What could you do in 40 Days if you Focused?

HAPPY MONDAY!!! (Day 1)
FUN stuff going on here. I know you’ve heard of “40 Days of Purpose” and “Finding Your Vision and Passion”  and all of those things.

We’ve studied business books, self-help courses and written our mission statements. AND YET, we STILL aren’t where we want to be…WHY IS THAT?

Well, I’ve decided that our strengths as women also factor as some of our weaknesses.

We’re great at juggling and wearing so many hats – that we are very challenged to POUR  FOCUS in any one area without feeling like we’re shortchanging something else.
RIGHT? (anyone still with me?)

SO – I have decided that beginning TODAY…I am having “40 Days of Fanatical Focus” You might want to join me!
POST A COMMENT AND LET ME KNOW!     (forward this to other women you connect with and ask them to join you for 40 Days!)

I’m choosing one area of focus in FOUR KEY SPOTS.  Health, Spiritual, Family & Business.
I’ve written down where I want to be in 40 days in these areas (measurable goals) and where I am starting today.  I’ve chosen a couple of key things to focus on every day and for FORTY DAYS I am NOT going to be distracted.
Short term sacrifice = long term gain and I am consciously deciding to take the ‘route of Noah, not Moses!’

I have set achievable goals…but I will really need to be INTENT and LASER-FOCUSED to achieve them.  I’m thrilled and nervous all at the same time!!

I am declaring that HERE so that I will be accountable to over 20,000 women (WHAT AM I THINKING??)

What could YOU achieve in the next 40 days if you committed to DAILY FANATICAL FOCUS?

I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

What is your industry? Who else is offering what YOU do?

Don’t forget to set yourself apart in the industry by offering a unique spin on things…or seeing a UNIQUE NEED and then filling it!

The gals at www.Razorr.com have done that! If you haven’t checked them out and you work with a team in direct sales, MLM or network marketing – go see what I’m talking about! I don’t make a dime recommending them – but I feel like this tool may add some serious value to your business and help you work smarter and more on-trend-technologically!

  1. Hi Carrie,
Thanks for doing this! I think this is the kick in the fanny I needed!

I’m going to try to double up (do at least 5 pieces of art work in a week) which might make me totally insane–and I might crash & burn but I’m going to give it my best shot. And of course in the middle of all this, I can’t forget two other part time businesses I run-LOL!

Thanks again for the impetus I think I needed!
Good luck with your efforts and thanks for all your encouragement. Please continue to keep us posted on your progress.

    Sheer Elegance Virtual Assistant
    Goals
    1. To sign on 2 new retainer clients
    2. Market my business 3 x’s a week for the next 40 days.

  3. Hi-

My name is Kristin and I look forward to 40 days of focus. I need to lose weight so to that I will do some form of exercise daily and make wiser choices in the food I eat. (Am one of those carb addicts!)

My business is writing but I’m not succeeding but I want to be at a different level. I have a number of projects that are collecting dust that I need to finish. One is a book on Sales.

At the same time I need to be seeking additional employment since I am one of those starving artists.

So I will commit to those goals over the next 40 days.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Kristin

  4. Hi Carrie,
Your 40 Days of Focus is right on time with what I’m focusing on for the next 3 months. Having moved to a new state without knowing anyone, my goal is to facial 100 faces in the next 60 days and to focus on building my business here in a new state. Thank you for the blog to keep my focused.

  5. Hi, Carrie. I really look forward to “Barefootin” emails. I am having trouble focusing so this is great. I’m stuck in a rut in my business and want desparately to grow. My goals are:
    1) to stick to my daily schedule – a.m. study and prayer time and exercise, and
    2) to share the Mary Kay opportunity with every woman I meet.

  6. Thanx soooo much for the focus group commitment! I just returned from our MK Career Conference and this is right in line with what I needed.

I am commited to functioning from a context of POWER, PASSION, and PEACE in business and family affairs for the next 40 days. That looks like: earning my 2nd Career Car and moving up to the next business level, while consistently maintaining my Mommy & Me time / Date Nite with my Hubby. That’s whatz up!

thanx again for the much needed accountability check in!

  7. Hi, Carrie!

My two goals this 40 days are:

    1) 2400 WS
    2) 6 NEW Team Members

I am adopting the philosophy: Why NOT me? :) Directorship

  8. Thanks for the FOCUS Carrie!
In the next 40 days I am committing to consistent business forward focus: IE nothing in the past matters – it is where we go from here.
I will complete qualifications for our 3rd Cadillac
Power Start + in each of the next 3 months
Eat a balnace diet – ahhhhh no chocolate or bread
Exercise at least 3 times per week.

If it is to be – it’s up to me!

  9. My new business venture is being a facilitator for Love and Logic. My mission is to provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children while making it fun and rewarding. My goals are:
    -Create an LLC
    - Be the sole facilitator for a community rec center and 1 school before May 11, 2008.
-Sign up at least 20 parents for a session in May.
-Network and advertise through my MOPS group, my son’s preschool, preschool music class and my local rec center.
I am looking forward to starting my next adventure in life while still being there for my children’s milestone moments!

  10. 100 faces by seminar ( 35 faces per month).Complete “It’s in the bag promotion” with 4 qualified recruits . 7 new recruits in the next 40 days. 600.00 w/s order

  11. Hello Carie,

In the Bible the number 40 …an elevated four…symbolizes a period of cleansing, testing, or preparation. I am ready for my focus to get my goals completed. What are my goals? Good health, lose 25 pounds, 35 Faces a month with $3,000 in sales, 10 new personal recruits, and 10 consultants to earn It’s in the Bag Challenge, finally, I want the Bee!

    Bee Jazzy in the Light,
    Ella

  12. Wow Carrie, this is an exciting idea and I’m on board with it. Thank you for the challenge.
1.I first want to always start my day with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I then end it with Him as well.
2.My health. I’ve just received results back that my Blood sugar is GOOD(hey!, hey!), my cholestrol is high and my vitamin D is low. I will be taking better care of my health during these 40 days.
    3. I will be walking 1 mile 4 days a week and by finish of the 40 days I will be up to 2 miles .
    4. I will continue networking to increase my hostess/customer list.
    5. I will continue working on my organizing of my office and other areas in my life that needs it.
Thank you Carrie for such a much needed challenge.

  13. Hey Carrie…I am SO loving your Barfoot telesummit! The speakers that I have heard have been outstanding. Thank you for your energy and vision. I LOVE the 40 day Challenge. I am a Sales Director with Mary Kay and I am serious about my goals. What a fun support system! :)

Goal 1: To excercise at least every other day
Goal 2: Before 1:00 pm every day- Meet at least 5 new people. Book 2 new appointments. Talk to 5 new and 5 key consultants.

This is BIG and SCARY for me but I am READY to do it. I will check in every day.

  14. Hi Carrie!

I really needed this, as my business is going through another growth spurt and I am finding it a bit hard at times to balance family and business.

    So…

    For 40 days:

1). I WILL not fail to first give God the praise for the blessings in my life.

2). I WILL spend a little more extra time with my family and enjoy some free time, even if a family walk at a local park which will also help me to take better care of myself (a 2-in-1 deal).

3). I WILL focus on the importance of “PDQ” and meeting the needs of my clients. Communication will be a priority.

    Thanks so much!

  15. Greetings!

Just jumped back into running a business and its too incredible to believe. I’m fortunate that some of my responsibilities finally are out of the nest(!) so expenses are not what they were.

    Goals?

The usual – better manage time

I’ve given up spending time reading the news and decided its time to make some!

Complete an internet marketing concept that is a joint venture..

Sign on new clients for web design business

Develop marketing concepts for present customers

Drop some cards to friends so they will still be there after the 40 days is up!

    FINISH some studying…. biz related

    Step up the exercise.

    Believe

  16. Sheila, April 10th

I’m focused on 5 qualified recruits this month, make my production and go into DIQ, knowing with all the help you give, and God’s blessings I’ll finish by the end of May and be a Director.

    Thanks so much

  17. Hi Carrie,

Since taking the 40 days of Focus challenge, my business is really starting to be more directed and exciting for me. I’ve been booking appointments (one of my goals) and I even have a young woman that is interested in the MK opportunity. I’m sooooo excited!! Thank you for the enthusiasm!!!

  18. Since writing down our goals is the best way to stay focused on them, here are my goals for the next 40 days:
    1) Lose 5 pounds (goal of losing 20 pounds by Sept 7 – company trip to SPA resort in Santa Fe !!)
    2) Team Leader with 8 active team members by Family Reunion
    3) Serve my customers better by contacting them on a consistent basis thru a combination of emails, phone calls and personal notes.

Thanks for your wonderful website Carrie !!

  19. I will have 10 classes a week with minimum 5 guests at each class. I will interview two from each class. Each class will be pre-profiled and I will send out thank you cards to each hostess for holding the class and to each customer for coming to the class.

  20. Thank you Carrie!
I find that I am way too divided, just like most women I know. I teach in a public school 1/2 time, am a college adjunct instructor, a kindermusik instructor, a girl scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and a Mary Kay consultant. Notice where the last one got listed – and that has GOT to change. By the way I have a busy 9 year old daughter, a stressed out husband, and 2 not-always-at-all-well parents in their 80’s. I think that actually there are MANY more women out there who are juggling MUCH more. So – here goes -
    1. I will commit one hour of customer contact – (not sorting product, stamping books, paperwork, etc. ) EVERY DAY with my Mary Kay business.
    2. I will work hard to put the “Blinders” on, and stay focussed on whatever job my commitments have me at at any given moment, so that I can be more productive with that given commitment at that moment, and in so doing create more free space in my mental life for everything else.
    3. I have made, and will keep a medical appt., to deal with issues of perimenopause and depression.
    4. I will look to God as my core source of support, and quit waiting for all the rest of the members of my family ( who of course are all dealing with their own stuff) to suddenly step up and give me that magical “extra hand” or “extra push” that doesn’t exist.
Thank you for the nudge to articulate my goals!
    Carol

  21. My fanatical focus is on working 40 hrs per wk, gold medaling April-June and achieving Unit Club 2008! I desperately need this accountability and thank you so much for this arena!

  22. Thanks for the kick in the butt.
We are working on family/home this week but I am also working toward retracking my business with at least 10 new contacts in the next 40 days.

  23. Hi Carrie,

Wow! What a great challenge. In starting my new business with my fabulous partners — this is perfect timing. I also have a business with my husband (www.wisteriagoldens.com.) Trying to juggle two businesses, family, self-care (what is that?) I find some days are very challenging. So, I am joining in late, but I have a few areas I would really like to laser focus on:

Health – exercise on a consistent basis at least 3 times per week
Spiritual – 15 minutes each morning of quiet time each morning
Family: Sundays – Family day — no phones, computers, or office work!
Business – to complete at least one thing each day in order to move me closer to my goals (not working in my business, but working ON my business)

Thank you for the accountability and sharing this challenge with us!

    To everyone’s success,

    Debbie Franklin
