Great advice, Carrie! I am striving to focus on my core product, but find myself cash strapped until it takes off. Any ideas?

Carrie, how true ,i find myself chasing to many rabbits . I must stop it today. I must decide which rabbit i want to go after, than pour my heart and soul into just one. Thank you!

You must have been looking over my shoulder watching me and all these rabbits!  Thanks for the reminder that we all work better when focused.

Right on Carrie!  This is something we’ve been working very hard on.  Focus, focus, focus :-)

How were you earning income before? What I do NOT suggest is creating multiple products or multiple markets hoping ‘at least one’ will take off.

My first suggestion for cash-strapped is ALWAYS to create a service-based business on the immediate (as of yesterday) timeline. What can you DO, locally or virtually?

You don’t need a site, but you do need a skill. When you are strapped…sell what you can DO while you work on your core business. (or get a job and work on your business in the part time)

I know this is true!  But,  am not sure which one to pick at this point!

Thanks, Carrie. This is what I was thinking. I just wondered if that was chasing different rabbits! So I will focus my efforts on providing what I can do locally IMMEDIATELY until I can build a list that will sustain me.

Thanks for the wisdom you impart!

My problem is I’m not sure which rabbit to chase. I’m anxious for something to work and when it doesn’t after a couple months, I add or change the rabbit, then if that doesn’t get going as fast as I want, I think about giving up. That’s where I’m at now. Not sure what to do.

You have to choose one and then really focus for a set period of time. Commit. Much like marriage – if we changed spouses or gave up that easily -we’d NEVER get a marriage to work ;)

You can’t look at it like an instant cash machine then abandon it. If it’s really a business you believe it – then I think 6-10 months is not too long to ask to focus, work in a targeted way, cultivate your audience and serve clients.

I just recently stopped chasing more than one bunny…and it feels great.  I have my confidence back, and I am starting to think I might really catch this bunny.  I have committed some resources (which have helped a lot) and have put intentional effort behind one business model.  I am starting to see results.  Thanks to some of your great ideas at the Radical Results Roadtrip in Orlando…I am crossing the ideas off my list if they do not complement my mission to catch that one bunny (so to speak).  Thanks for your support Carrie…you are one of the few people I always open in my inbox.

This rings so true for me. Sometimes I feel like one of my labrador retrievers (easily distracted by shiny objects and squirrels) and need to keep my focus. Especially with all the opportunities in social media. This topic reminds me of an acronym I learned from Mari Smith. FOCUSF=followO=oneC=courseU=untilS=successfulNow I’ll try focusing on that one rabbit (or squirrel) like you suggest. Thanks for the reminder!

That makes me happy-happy!! I know you can and will!

I think I lost all the rabbits. I have the same anxiousness to see something work, but right now I have lost direction, and the harder I try to find it the more it eludes me and the more I have to work for someone else’s bottom line to make ends meet. Now, how on earth do I figure out what would be the rabbit?

I believe everyone’s rabbit is different. There is no one model that is ideal for everyone

Hi, I am right now chasing way too many rabbits.  I am at a point that I don’t know if I should give up…….but I am not going to be that quiter!!!!!  Trying to do a website with affiliates but not sure what my niche should be.  I get sidetracked like you said early in one of the talks you did.  Help…………I think the boat is sinking!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

focusing on one core business doesn’t mean you are a quitter. It means you are focused. Your niche should be something you’re experienced in, interested in, knowledgeable about and excited to write about and promote (if you are doing niche affiliate work)

Call me Elmer Fudd…Guilty as charged…you are so correct and yet me being the greenest entrepreneur ever, .I.have many plaques waiting for the little bunny heads…that’s sick, but you know what I mean..I am going to read part 4 over again..thanks, Peg

But the bunnies are so cute I WANT TO CHASE THEM ALLLLLLLL!!

If I chase only one bunny, won’t the other bunnies feel neglected?????

What if someone else starts chasing my other bunnies????

(Ooo! Maybe I can get someone on Fiverr to chase my other bunnies for me.)

Seriously though, thanks for a great post, Carrie. I really do need to choose one frikkin’ bunny rabbit already.

  • Carrie Wilkerson

LOL – yep – delegate out the others :)
