Getting To Know Your Audience

There’s a song in “The King & I” with Yul Brenner and Deborah Kerr — ‘Getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, getting to know you like me…’ — and I believe filling your stadium, building your fanbase and increasing your subscriber list is the same way.

How do I do this quickly, consistently and authentically?

Your Audience is Waiting

As promised in my last post, I want to share some important points for the audience that is waiting for you.  Yes, you have an audience waiting for you and in order to reach them you must first Want them.  The first of my 4W’s is Want. [Read more →]

Let’s FOCUS

As many of you may or may not know I have the pleasure of meeting many entrepreneurs and many soon to be entrepreneurs.  What separates the successful ones from the ones that are just merely getting by is the term FOCUS. Okay, not merely the term but the definition and how they actually apply it to their business and life in general.

When you are laser focused on a project that is all that should matter at the moment.  Now believe me there are many distractions that may come into play and want to detract you from your main goal, but please….stay FOCUSED!  This reminds me of the movie UP and the little dog who gets distracted with you guessed it…Squirrel!  Let’s not be that dog and stay focused on the task at hand. Treat Your List Like Gold

Anyone that knows me or has heard of me, knows that I cherish my list.  Most importantly, I don’t consider them a list instead I consider them my circle of friends.  It’s important to consider your list or friends as just that, friends.  No one likes to be considered a number because quite frankly we are people with feelings and concerns.

For those of you who are having difficulty attracting folks to your circle, perhaps the tips I share below will help.

  • Branding is essential – keep your colors and log consistent in everything you do.  Adding your colors to your sites, products, E-books, Special Reports will keep your look professional and consistent.  If using a photo of yourself, keep the same photo for a period of time so people can connect your face with your products and site.
  • Newsletter/Ezine – keep in touch with your ‘list’ and be consistent.  If you offer a newsletter/ezine it is important to be consistent, and deliver great information that will keep your ‘list’ happy.  Be sure to send out at least twice a month or they will forget who you are.

No More Excuses

Have you ever heard the phrase: ‘Excuses or results, but never both’? Well, that’s what I live by.  Sure it’s very easy to come up with an excuse as to why something was not accomplished, but it feels so much better to get the results after working very hard or making the right decisions..

Results are not easy to come by but when they do we must relish that moment.  More importantly be aware of what you did to get that result and duplicate it.  This phrase is fitting for any part of our lives.  As many of you know I lost over 100lbs.  It wasn’t easy by any means, but I was not going to allow excuses to get in the way of my ultimate goal.  Now recently we moved into our dream home, again because of results and not excuses.  You can find things in your lives that you are very happy and content with and those too are from results, not excuses. Have You Ever Felt This Way?

We have moved into our new home.

  • There are boxes everywhere.
  • The walls are empty.
  • I am still rearranging furniture to get it ‘right.’
  • It seems like the mess gets worse before it gets better.
  • There is no internet. No phone. No ‘bells & whistles’ yet.

But…it is home. It feels right and there is an air of excitement in our family as we spend a bit of time each day working at it, taking steps to our goals and ‘nesting’ in our new space.

Building a business, building your future, is very much like this move for us! [Read more →]

Put Your Fears Aside

All too often the reasons we don’t try something whether it be a new project, new food or sport is usually do to fear. Yes, the ugly word – Fear.  It can definitely be debilitating if we allow it to be.

Notice how I used the word- allow.  It is truly under our control what we desire to do and what we set out to do.  If we allow fear to enter the equation we are setting limitations upon ourselves.  Instead of fear, I choose to Focus.  Notice the positive connotation that the word Focus has.
