Someone Called Me Unreasonable
Posted on March 23rd, 2010 by Carrie Wilkerson
I found this in one of my journals this week and wanted to share it with you…
…Someone called me unreasonable today. And after thinking about it awhile, I think they’re right!!
About Success…I am Being Unreasonable…
About Financial Freedom…I am Being Unreasonable…
About Choices for My Family…I am Being Unreasonable…
I’m being Unreasonable by:
- Being Uncompromising – by sticking to my goals no matter what
- Being Demanding – by expecting more, not less, from everyone around me (and myself!)
- Being Critical – by changing old systems that just don’t work
- Being Outrageous – by creating my own Business Brain Trust of those who challenge and educate me
- Being Prepared – for real success on my terms
So…thanks for noticing that I’m being Unreasonable!! I wish that for YOU too!
I just wanted to share that with you!!
I’m also thrilled to be working with a group of UNREASONABLE people…
Go Check Out What They’re Up To < —-
If you’re ‘Unreasonable’ Enough – I’d love to work with you too!

Love your “unreasonable” post and honored to be working with you as another “unreasonable” because most think I should be retired and not starting up a business at my age. What age? Well to some 40, 50, 60, 70 are old, but to me until my last breath I am excited to be living and be “unreasonable” to those who don’t understand my “heartbeat” for living and helping others too. With that said, having my own money and not depending on the government motivates me to move ahead and depend on myself. I want to be an “original” and not a “copy” so maybe that is what “unreasonable” can mean to some too!
Dear Carrie,
This struck a cord with me today. I am printing this out and pinning it to my forehead the next time some asks for a “FAVOR” from me. If my foot could kick my butt, I would definitely do it because I broke my own rule and did a favor for a client who asked if they could pay my fee at the end of the project. I granted that favor and it’s been a month since I provided my services. I have been more than patient while hearing every excuse in the book that I will be paid in a couple days. Today I was told I am being unreasonable. If getting paid for services delivered is unreasonable, then call me unreasonable all you want. Yes, I am unreasonable when it comes to lowering my fees on the “promise” of future work. And YES, I am unreasonable when it comes to denying myself an income to help someone else out. Here’s to a life of being unreasonable!
Great list.
I’ve also heard “unreasonable” defined as not buying your own reasons (or anyone else’s) for you to not get what you want. Hurray for all of these!
